We are happy to offer contactless access to physical materials from Newtown Public Library. We are quarantining returned materials for 96 hours so please give us a few days to prepare your materials. The library building will remain closed to the public at this time.
Contactless Pick-up Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
- Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
We are available to take your requests or answer your questions Monday through Thursday, and on Saturdays, during contactless pickup hours above. Call the library at 610-353-1022 x1 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request items that you would like to check out. You may also place requests through the online catalog.
Don’t know what you would like to read or watch? Our librarians are prepared to put together Grab Bag Bundles of up to 20 items based on your preferences for you to check out. Just let us know what you like and our experts will do the rest!
Please allow us at least 48 hours to gather and prepare your requests as we are operating with limited staff and have new protocols to follow that affect our ability for a faster turnover of requests. Items will be checked out to your library card before you arrive.
When your items are ready, we will call or email you to schedule a pickup day during contactless pick-up hours. On your scheduled pick-up day, you will find your materials in a new plastic bag labeled with your last name on a table inside the contactless pickup shelter by the back entrance of the library. If you are unable to pick-up your materials during your pick-up time, please contact the library to reschedule.
If you are returning materials during your pick-up time, please place them in the covered bin in the contactless pickup area. This will make it easier for us to quarantine materials and lessen handling of returned items.
All materials returned to the library in the front book drop or in the drop-off bin by the contactless pick-up area will be quarantined for at least 96 hours before they are checked in. Each Delaware County Library may follow a different procedure on handling returned items so please contact the library where you returned any items that remain checked out on your card or if you have questions about the quarantine period.
Please note that we are not accepting donations of any books or other materials at this time. Please do not put donations in the book drop or leave them outside the library. We will let you know when we are ready to begin accepting donations as well as any limitations to items we are able to accept. Thank you for your cooperation.
