Friends of the Library - An Evening with Marple Newtown HS AP Art Students

Sponsored by the Newtown Friends group. In the community room. No registration. All ages. A selection of exceptional art by the Advanced Placement students at Marple Newtown High School will be displayed throughout the month of June. Come to an informal program to hear them speak.

Science in the Summer
Monday to Thursday, July 8th - 11th (Level I: 2:00 - 2:45 p.m., Level II: 3:00 - 3:45 p.m)
Parents will be notified in beginning of June if your child was chosen in the lottery.
For Delaware County students entering 2nd-6th grade. GlaxoSmithKline's free and fun experiment-oriented program is taught by certified teachers to groups of 16 students in two age groups: children entering 2nd-3rd grades (Level I) and children entering 4th-6th grades (Level II). Sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in partnership with The Franklin Institute and local libraries. The topic in Delaware County this year is Bioscience, where they will explore the world of living things. Students will examine plant and animal cells using microscopes, dissect flowers and learn about bacteria. It consists of four 45-minute classes given over the course of a week in the afternoon only.
