Library Card Info

How to Get a Library Card:
Membership at the Newtown Public Library is free. Your library card will be honored at all of the public libraries in the Delaware County Library System and throughout most of Pennsylvania. There are two ways to get a Delaware County Libraries library card:

• In person: Print out and complete the attached application form

• Online: Click here to register for a Delaware County Libraries library card online.

Upon completing the online library card registration, you will receive a temporary barcode for immediate access to a limited set of resources. Keep this number handy until your physical card arrives by mail, which typically takes three to five business days. Please be aware that services like Libby and Hoopla won’t be available until you receive your physical card.

Once you have your physical library card, it is essential to visit any library in Delaware County within 30 days to verify your account. Bring your library card and a form of photo identification, such as a driver’s license, for the verification process. Failing to verify your account within the specified 30-day period will result in the expiration of your card.
