Join us in commemorating 50 wonderful years of Newtown Public Library with a special Read-Aloud Marathon! This exciting event invites community members of all ages to sign up for a time slot to read aloud from their favorite library book.
Whether it’s a cherished childhood story, an inspiring novel, or a fascinating non-fiction book, we welcome you to share your favorite library treasures with fellow book lovers. This marathon is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading, connect with others, and contribute to our rich history of fostering a love for literature.
How to Participate:
- Choose Your Book: Select a book from our library collection that you love and would like to read aloud.
- Sign Up for a Time Slot: Sign up here or come to the Library’s Front Desk to sign up for a 10-minute reading slot. Time slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to secure your spot early!
- Read Aloud: Join us on the day of the event and share your chosen excerpt with our community.

- Library Tours: Get a behind the scenes look at the library.
- 50 Years of Newtown Public Library Photo Exhibit: Explore special photographs from the past 50 years in our lobby.
- New Meeting Room Ribbon Cutting at 1:30 p.m.: Join Representative Lisa Borowski and Newtown Township Chairman Leonard Altieri as we celebrate our new meeting space.
- Refreshments: Enjoy complimentary cake and beverages throughout the event.
